Editorial Review Who said sequels are never as good as the original? Acclaim's Turok 2: Seeds of Evil blows that theory right out of the water. In this first-person shooter you will find yourself taking aim at a formidable army of dinosaurs while saving children, freeing prisoners, blowing up enemy ammo dumps, and more. Expect to devote a significant chunk of time to this title: the estimated completion time for this game is 45 hours, which rivals The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in game size. If you tire of a frustrating puzzle in the single-player mode, turn to your buddies to liven things up: Turok 2 offers three different game modes for multiplayer mayhem. --Hugh Arnold Pros: - Fantastic graphics
- Long play time, good replay value
- Enormous worlds to explore
- Never boring--plenty of challenging enemies and varied missions
Cons: - Graphic violence may be too intense for kids

Amazing Graphics, Boring gameplay October 6, 2008 The weapons are awesome but the huge maps and boring objectives make this game extremely dull. Perfect Dark and Goldeneye all the way. Definately skip this game.
a game almost a generation ahead of its time. August 23, 2008 Turok 2 was and still is a magnificent first person shooter. the graphics are like that of an early ps2 game. the game has a wide array of different levels from cities, to spaceships, gigantic mantis hives, underground lairs and even more surprises. what really stunned me about the game was almost life like quality of it. you would see birds flying in the sky, fires that were almost realistic. sometimes if you have been playing the game for a while it almost isnt a game anymore. you actually feel like you are turok exploring these massive worlds. the only two complaints i have are the jumping which plagued you in the first game. Finally when you got into a firefight with several enemies at once the screen would become glitchy. all in all turok 2 is a title worthy of a spot in any fps fans collection.
Good in its time, but the game did have its drawbacks September 21, 2006 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Back in the day, Turok 2 would've stunned any player with its eye-popping graphics and huge levels. One of the coolest aspects of the game is its wide arrange of really cool weapons. Multi-player is fun. Though, I wouldn't recommend this game to any of my friends in present times.
While playing Turok 2, you will spend a lot of your time back-tracking areas, which doesn't lead to any action. When you kill one of the enemy's, it will vanish providing you with no way to find your way back. If you play enough through these annoyances then you can become a expert enough to move through the game with ease. Being a action-shooter type, back-tracking areas can become a major bore for this genre. Don't expect steady feet gameplay like Goldeneye or Perfect Dark.
The graphics are great for 64, the story is okay, the characters are awesome, the weapons are extremely awesome, but the overall beat of the game lacks, which sucks away a lot of "what it could of been" gameplay. Turok 2 isn't a bad game, but isn't one you pull out of your closet a year or two down the road, to play either.
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil....... January 27, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil is the sequel to Turok Dinosaur Hunter that not only surpasses that game in it's greatness but is my most favorite game in the series of four games that came out on the N64. Everything that made the original such a great game to play was improved upon, especially in the way of graphics. With the expansion pak, graphics had 'almost' a Playstation 2 quality to them. It's something that showed with this game. It showed in the textures of the environments, the details of the architecture, lighting effects and other eye candy. The game was also bigger and better than any other game, with the exception of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, in it's 32 meg cartridge. As you've probably read in the courtesy review, it's been stated to have over 45 hours of playtime. While I don't know about that, personally, as I hadn't checked where I stand within the game..one thing I do know is it's one lengthy meaty game to sink your teeth(playtime) into.
While Turok 2: Seeds of Evil stood in the shadow of Rare's Goldeneye during it's release, Turok 2 still stands the test of time in terms of gameplay and is one game every Nintendo fan should add to their collection. If not for the fact that it had a killer storyline and an awesome arsenal of weapons to play with, then for the fact it was an absolute beauty of a game.
A GAME THAT IS STILL FUN AND NEEDS TO BE REMADE ON PS2!!!! September 10, 2005 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I CANT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS GAME. I HAVE BEEN ALL OVER THE WEB PRAISING IT SINCE THE FIRST DAY I GOT A COMPUTER. IF YOU ARE A TRUE GAMER, AND ENJOY A CHALLENGE, THAT NEEDS NOT JUST SKILL WITH A CONTROLLER, BUT INTELLIGENCE, THEN, THIS IS THE GAME FOR YOU. I HAVE YET TO PLAY A GAME THAT HAS SOOOOOO MUCH PACKED IN IT. YOU HAVE TO GIVE THE GAME A CHANCE. I WOULD NOT TRADE MINE FOR ANYTHING IN THIS WORLD. IT IS SUPERB AND IS COMPARABLE WITH ALL THE NEW PS2 GAMES OUT THERE. I PERSONALLY THINK IT IS BETTER, AND SHOULD SET THE STANDARD FOR ALL FPS. THE WORLDS ARE VAST, AND WONDERFUL TO EXPLORE. THE CHEATS MAKE THE GAME MORE FUN BECAUSE EVEN WITH THEM YOU HAVE TO BE SMART. YOU HAVE TO HAVE GREAT RECALL. I PUT IT UP AGAINST ANY GAME OUT THERE. THE MUSIC IS GREAT, THE LEVELS ARE HUGE AND AWESOME. YOU GET A LOT OF GAME FOR THE MONEY. IT TAKES HOURS TO PLAY AND YOU WILL NOT BEAT IT IN ONE DAY, ESPECIALLY WITHOUT THE CHEATS. FOR THOSE WHO THINK THEY CAN, I DARE YOU TO TRY. HA, YOU WONT GET PAST LEVEL THREE. THE CHEATS ACTUALLY ENHANCE THE GAME PLAY AND YOU HAVE A LOT OF THEM. AS I SAID BEFORE, YOU GET A LOT OF GAME FOR THE MONEY. IT IS FAR BETTER THAN TUROK EVOLUTION..WHEN THEY MADE THIS GAME..THEY OUT DID THEMSELVES. MY HAT IS OFF TO THE GENIOUS'S THAT DID TUROK SEEDS OF EVIL..EXCELLANT. BE PATIENT, GIVE IT A CHANCE, AND DONT THINK THE FIRST LEVEL IS THE WAY THE WHOLE GAME IS,,..EVERY LEVEL/WORLD IS VASTLY DIFFERENT..AND IN SOME PARTS SCARY. THE MUSIC IS GREAT AND ADDS TO THE AMBIENCE. YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED.
