 this game is the worst i ever played November 6, 2003
this game sucks. graphics suck gameplay sucks cars suck there are three angles to drive from and all are bad. and its impossibly hard. if there was a 0 i would have rated it that. its TERRIBLE!!
What a Dissapointment March 24, 2003
The graphics, sound, and special effects of this game really ..., especially for the PS2. This looks and feels like a mediocre N64 game. Its no fun at all, I want to sell mine and i got it like a week ago. Sure it has all the trucks and sport ulitilties (for its date), but they are boaring to drive. I reccomend a newer rally game like V-Rally 3, WRC, or Colin Mcrae 3. 4x4 evolution is just plain [junk]. Id rather have a blank disc, at least I could put decent music on that..

Is this game in slow motion or what? The cars "speed" along at a snails pace. Free Roam? I didn't see any free roam. I bought this game because it was supposed to have more free roam areas than Test drive wide open off road which only has three. Test Drive rocks, the trucks are fast, the gameplay is fast, I hope they come out with a second one with more free roam areas. If you like unrealistic slow moving vehicles buy 4x4 Evo, if you want fast mud pounding terrain trouncing fun, buy Test Drive Offroad Wide Open! Too bad there is no option for 0 Stars

I loved this game since the first time I rented it. You can buy almost any make of suv and there are so many parts you can purchase to make it better. The parts include 1 to 14 inch lift kits, brush guards, different tires, gear boxes, etc. Another pro is the graphics are incredable and it seems life-like.
I would not reccomend this game for kids under 13 because this is not just a game that you pick up and start racing. In this game you buy a suv and build on to it. Each time you win a race you win money. You have to be a little patient.
 Long To Load, Bad To Go Fast And Control June 7, 2002
... When you race, you can't go fast at all! Controlling is impossible to do. I never won a race! The computer players are much to hard. The only time I ALMOST won was against my dad in MULTI-PLAYER MODE. you can't stay on the road! With no control you end up in the middle of nowhere!Speed: 0

Go off track: 5
Stay on track: 1 PLUS+ My friends also hate it.
But maybe I'm not just a 4 x 4 guy. Because they got all different selections of diffrent companies and colors. Last, you can even make your mom or dad's truck drive. well, I don't like it. But kids over 13 will.
