In Success mode, you can participate in a story-based career of rising players in the Double-A Minor League system trying to improve their baseball skills and make an impression on baseball scouts while also having to balance various situations in their personal lives. While continuing to play in games through the regular baseball season, you will also participate in a number of realistic situations such as signing contracts, purchasing houses and cars, making charitable donations, building up relationships with friends and teammates, picking up hobbies and much more. Best of the (sand) lot December 24, 2008 After playing all the baseball games on the DS (except for wiffle ball) I have found this to be the best of the lot, with backyard baseball coming in a close second.
The gameplay is tough (currently on normal mode) most games I have lost 5-1, 4-1 etc., I really enjoyed the fact that it is tough to beat, I always want to play just one more game as I think I can figure out how to win a contest. The only negative is that I find it hard to hit deep fly's, doubles, triples and home runs.
Graphics are very good, I actually enjoy the tough cute looking players, and only 4 stadiums are available, but this is a DS, so I can live with that.
Sound not the best, I turned off the announcer
While it is lacking the season mode, I am ok with it as I am just happy that the overall package is very good.
Closing comment, alot of people have past this one over because of the season mode was not included. I really think you need to look past it and purchase this product to help ensure that the franchise continues and short comings are addressed in future editions, this is the best the DS has out right now for baseball.
Great gameplay, no season mode August 30, 2008 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
The gameplay is really good. You can pick up the controls quickly and catch on to the gameplay quick, too. Every game is fun to play because of how good the gamplay is.
The main problem I had with the game is the lack of a season mode. There is also no create a player mode. The playoff setup isnt bad, but you have to pick all the teams.
